As the world pivots toward a more sustainable future, India has emerged as a global leader with its ambitious goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2070. At the heart of this mission are climate tech startups, which are leveraging advanced technologies to reshape industries and make sustainable practices more accessible. However, these startups face significant challenges, including declining funding, rising interest rates, and regulatory complexities. Despite these hurdles, India's climate tech ecosystem continues to expand, now boasting over 600 startups tackling issues ranging from renewable energy and sustainable agriculture to carbon capture and efficient waste management. To address these challenges and unlock their full potential, new technologies must be scaled at the pace required to combat the climate crisis. This often necessitates greater investment, stronger incentives, and supportive frameworks for deployment. Recognizing the importance of bridging this gap, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), in partnership with CNBC-TV18 and Climate Collective, introduces the Climate Tech Convening 2025. A full-day conclave scheduled to be held on January 14, 2025.This premier platform is dedicated to empowering climate tech startups by providing them with recognition, fostering meaningful discussions, and facilitating collaborations that accelerate India's sustainable development. Through knowledge exchange and collaborative efforts, the event aims to champion innovations that decouple economic growth from emissions, helping India achieve a 100% clean economy.
